Timbergrove Solutions

Visuals for Moonshot IoT

Overview

Timbergrove's Moonshot product is focused on developing a custom cloud-based technology for enterprise asset tracking and management. Together we worked on how to build a clarifying message for a presentation and to better engage their client, Kinder Morgan in regards to how their IoT platform would improve their logistics efficiency.

I collaborated with the team at Timbergrove to build this presentation by developing the creative direction for their pitch decks.

Design Process

The goal of this project was to create product illustrations for a pitch presentation with Kinder Morgan with the goal of explaining how this IoT platform would meet their business requirements.

My approach meeting design parameters

Since Timbergrove is utilizing IBM's Watson and Maximo systems, I utilized IBM’s Carbon Design System aesthetic and assets for compliance purposes as a authorized IBM Business Partner, as they wanted it to be streamlined with IBM’s brand.

  • Product Illustrations and Iconography: These illustrations and icons were used to guide stakeholders on how the IoT platform would be integrated into a variety of departments.
  • Infographics for Wayfinding: After a couple of iterations as a team, we decided this would be a helpful differentiator of how the product worked in practice. This was a last minute addition to the slidedeck and we landed on using colors as our wayfinding tools to explain the product.

Challenges

The visual guide needed to be easily comprehensible by the business development team at Kinder Morgan and after a couple of run throughs the material was tricky to layout. The solution was to create a infographic was a last minute addition to the presentation. We landed on using colors as a wayfinding tool to explain the product to the business development team.

Key takeaways

After a few iterations, we landed on using color blocks to separate the different stages of the software deployment and use cases for Kinder Morgan’s business purposes in the office and in the field via cloud based technology.

Outcome

This visual infographic project was about communicating Timbergrove's new IoT product for a potential contract with clients. Unfortunately, I was not updated on the status of that product, however, the product service has been successful and is currently offered on their website. The designs I put together for this project set a visual template and foundation for the team at the time to build on.
